Sarah Phillips McCartan is a wine specialist and communications consultant based in Miami, Florida. She is a regular host of consumer wine tastings, a writer, and the founder of Wine Talks Miami, South Florida’s wine trade network. She is also Head of Membership for international fine wine think Tank Areni Global.

Sarah relocated from London to Miami in January 2019 and quickly became embedded in the local wine community. Thanks to her enthusiasm for her new city, she won Jancis Robinson’s wine writing competition for her article, Miami for Wine Lovers, in August 2019.

In London, Sarah managed communications for Liv-ex, a global fine wine trading platform. She frequently achieved coverage in national, international and trade publications such as the FT, Bloomberg, Decanter and The Drinks Business.

Sarah holds a Diploma in Wine & Spirits, the highest level offered by the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust). She is a current Master of Wine student. After passing the theory exams at the first attempt, she is now focused on tasting.

When not in Florida, Sarah can be found exploring the world of wine. Recent travels have taken her to Argentina, Chile, Napa, Bordeaux, and South Africa – among others. She is happiest when sharing her enthusiasm with fellow wine lovers.
